Rory Burroughs was raised in East Texas, growing up with Lake Livingston as his backyard and spending every opportunity hunting and fishing with his father and brother. His early love for the outdoors developed into a lifelong passion for land, wildlife, and stewardship. Rory earned a Bachelor of Science in Rangeland Ecology from Texas A&M University, where he laid the foundation for a career dedicated to land and wildlife management.
After college, Rory spent more than five years managing ranches across South Texas, gaining valuable experience in operating heavy equipment, habitat design, and land restoration. In 2000, he moved to the Rolling Plains region of Texas, where he found his home serving landowners and communities across the area. Over the past two decades, he has developed deep expertise in wildlife management, ranch operations, and property evaluation.
Through his business, Comprehensive Land Management, Rory provides professional services to landowners across Texas, including deer population studies, prescribed burns, brush sculpting, and habitat improvement projects. His extensive knowledge helps clients enhance their property’s value and achieve long-term conservation goals.
Beyond his work in land and wildlife, Rory has been a driving force in revitalizing his hometown of Rotan. His vision and leadership have helped breathe new life into the community, particularly through the renovation of downtown spaces and his commitment to local growth and preservation.
With more than 20 years of experience evaluating land and 15 years in real estate, Rory combines technical expertise with a genuine dedication to his clients. He believes in building relationships that last, often saying, “I don’t have clients—I’m fortunate to have friends I get to work with.”
When not working, Rory enjoys spending time on the ranch with family and friends, hunting, and traveling to college football games, especially with his Maroon Saloon tailgate crew at Texas A&M.
