Cassie Aaron was not the first realtor that I consulted regarding the sale of my property. She was the third. The first two realtors I called did not provide me a lot of confidence in getting my property sold. The first realtor did not have a lot of experience in handling farm and ranch properties and presented some unreal objectives. The second realtor did not have a personality I particularly agreed with. On the other hand Cassie has a demeanor that I felt comfortable with. She and I discussed my goals on selling the property and these goals seemed reasonable to move the property in a reasonable time frame. I always felt she was honest in her endeavors on moving the property. Basically I felt comfortable in her listing the property. The property was sold in a reasonable time and for close to what I was asking. I would rate her in about a nine on a scale of 10 for her work on the sale of the property. She was always prompt with regard to the times she said she would be here to show the property. That is something that was not seen in other realtors. Some of the other realtors that showed the property brought out some clients that were obviously not capable of purchasing my property and that I regard as poor judgment on their part.

For the last thirty-five years, I renovated old houses as a side income. I have bought and sold a lot of properties over that time and dealt with more than a few realtors. Long ago the greatest value of a relator to me was their in-depth knowledge of neighborhoods and areas in their market. This more than anything else justified their commission. Many years ago the game changed. Agents aren’t allowed to “steer” clients anymore… value lost. The other thing that made real estate agents invaluable years ago was that they were the MLS gatekeepers. Without a realtor, there was no way to get access to all of the properties for sale in a given area. Now, with sites like realtor.com, the house-hunting aspect of the process can be handled without an agent… more value lost. So then, with those two things off the table, what makes a real estate agent worth the commission they charge? Here are the things I look for: AVAILABILITY: Realty isn’t a 9 to 5 job. But while realtors can’t be expected to work all of the time, they should be available to a client under contract at any time (within reason). PERFORMANCE: Lots of little things can and will go wrong in any real estate transaction. A good realtor stays on top of the deal and is as proactive as possible in attending to the details.
