Location: The property is located in northeastern Stonewall County, approximately 3 hours from the DFW area, 3 hours from Midland/Odessa, and 2 hours from Lubbock. Access to the property is by private road off of CR 231.
Acreage: Hidden Lake Ranch is made up of approximately 363± acres and is all in native mesquite and cedar pasture.
Topography: This is wild country with everything from deep spring-fed canyons to mesquite and cedar flats on the tops. There is approximately 150 feet of elevation change across the ranch, giving incredible views across the ranch and the greater area. The lake/tank is situated near the center of the property, providing water for miles around!
Rainfall/Elevation: According to the Texas Almanac online, Stonewall County’s average annual rainfall is 24 inches.
Cover: The cover consists of mesquite and cedar-covered high mesas to deep canyon draws and creek beds with very diverse vegetation including thickets of large hackberry, scrub oak, several varieties of native brush species, and native grasses.
Fences: There is perimeter fencing in place, with three sides being brand new five-strand barbed wire and the 4th side being barbed wire in good condition.
Utilities: Co-op electricity is located along the west fence line and is provided by South Plains Electric Co-op.
Water: The hidden lake is located near the center of the ranch providing water to the wildlife and livestock. The lake appears to be spring-fed and is over an acre in size when full of typically crystal-clear water. There are some fish, but I am pretty sure this has never been professionally stocked.
Hunting: The hunting on the ranch should be fantastic with a large and growing population of Whitetail deer, free-range elk, red stag, and Aoudad. Of course, there are plenty of wild hogs and all of the other species you would expect to see in West Texas. There is one tower blind and feeder on the ranch that will convey with purchase.
