Details

Acreage:

Elk Corner consists of approximately 320± acres of rough and raw hunting land.

Topography:

This is rough and rugged country, with everything from deep spring-fed canyons to mesquite and cedar flats on the tops. The ranch has an approximately 150-foot elevation change, which gives incredible views across the ranch and the greater area.

Rainfall and Elevation:

The average rainfall for Stonewall County is 24 inches per year according to the Texas Almanac online.

Cover:

The cover consists of mesquite and cedar-covered high mesas to deep canyon draws and creek beds with very diverse vegetation including thickets of large hackberry, shin oak, several varieties of native brush species, and native grasses.

Fences:

The property is completely fenced with 5 strand barbed wire on steel posts. The fences are almost new.

Utilities:

Electricity is available through South Plains Electric.

Water:

There is a small spring near the center of the ranch, which is sufficient for wildlife. There is an old earth tank toward the north end, but the dam is blown out. If repaired, this would make an absolutely incredible tank and would hold water up into a couple of different canyons. Water wells are possible in the area, but not a guarantee.

Hunting:

The hunting on the ranch should be fantastic with a large and growing population of Whitetail deer, free-range elk, red stag, and Aoudad. Of course there are plenty of wild hogs and all of the other species you would expect to see in West Texas. There is one tower blind and feeder on the ranch that will convey with the purchase. Take a look at the game photos to see some of the animals they have captured on camera.

Residence and Improvements:

There are 3 containers on the ranch that can be bought at an additional price if wanted, but they are not calculated into the asking price at this time

Mineral Rights:

The ranch is offered as surface estate only because the seller does not own any of the minerals. There is one producing well near the county road.
