John Ekdahl, Real Estate Agent

John Ekdahl

John was raised on a cotton and cattle operation in the Community of Ericksdahl, which is located in the heart of central West Texas about 10 miles east of Stamford. This upbringing gives him a strong agricultural background, as well as the depth of knowledge necessary to help you with the operation of your farm or ranch.

John graduated Stamford High School in 1988 and from there went on a somewhat circuitous route to ultimately receive a BBA in Finance from Texas A&M University in 1995. He began his real estate career in 1996 as a sales agent for Ekdahl Real Estate, a business founded by his dad in 1980.

Over the years John helped to grow the business, adding several new agents, obtaining his broker’s license, and eventually took over Ekdahl Real Estate in 2007 when Ed decided to hang up his spurs and retire. John’s focus is quality, and he tries to live by the philosophy that we don’t sell property, we help sellers to market their properties, and help buyers to find their perfect property. By looking at it this way, he says it feels more like we are on a team with our clients than trying to push something on them.

John is grateful for the support of his wife and two boys, as well as the outstanding team of professional agents that surround him.

The wife and I would recommend John and Ekdahl Real Estate to anyone looking for ranch land John worked with us for over a year trying to find the property that best fit what we wanted. He ended up making good on his word finding a diamond in the rough. John is very friendly, very knowledgeable on the land and its features good or bad unlike, most real estate brokers. John still calls and checks on us from time to time keeping in touch creating a friendship a long the way .

John was the best person for helping us with our ranch purchase. He was personable and clearly had our best interest in mind. The best thing about the entire experience was knowing that John was going to be point blank honest with us about each and every place we looked at.

We purchased our first rural property from John in 2013 as a recreational retreat. He found a property that met our family’s needs and investment budget. We loved the property so much that we purchased two more ranches from John, one as an agricultural and finally one for our new home! Each time, John listened to our goals and found the right property at the right price. We highly recommend John to anyone considering an investment in West Texas real estate!

John was an influential part of my search for the ranch that I had dreamed of. Through the 13 ranches and 3 straight days on the road, it seemed he was as persistent and passionate as I was to find my ranch. His extensive experience helped in many ways throughout the process.
